The Power Amplifier is the essential component that is responsible for driving the speakers.  Power amplifiers are available in Solid State or Tube varieties, and in Stereo and Monobloc form.  Monobloc power amplifiers are used in pairs, one for the left channel and one for the right.  Separating the power amplifiers in this way is an effective method of reducing distortion in the signal and improving overall system performance.
