Pioneer BDP-120 Blu-Ray Disc Player and VSX-LX52 Theatre Receiver

Pioneer’s successor to the immensely popular VSX-LX51 Theatre Receiver and BDP-LX51 Blu-Ray Disc Player are due to arrive very soon.  We were very impressed with the previous models’ performance and sound quality, particularly for playback of music.  Pioneer’s home theatre products may be the most inherently musical components on the market, and the involvement of AIR Studios in the design and testing of their products has certainly been beneficial.  

The BDP-120 Blu-Ray Disc Player and VSX-LX52 Theatre Receiver are now available and due to arrive in our showroom very shortly.  We expect them to be every bit as amazing as their predecessors.  The BDP-120 adds BD Live support and boasts an impressive 0.8 second start up time, the fastest Blu-Ray player by quite a considerable margin, while the VSX-LX52 expands on the features of the previous model with greatly expanded HDMI connectivity, iPod and iPhone compatibility and Pioneer’s Advanced Sound Retriever, which restores the quality of compressed music close to that of the original CD.

We are very happy to announce the arrival of Polk Audio speakers in our showroom. The complete range of Polk Audio’s new RTi and top of the line LSi speakers are now on display in our showroom.  The first thing that we noticed about these speakers was their striking appearances, combining piano gloss finishes with real wood veneer for a beautiful and contemporary look.  While these speakers were clearly designed with an aesthetic motive, this has not in any way compromised their audio performance.  We believe that Polk Audio speakers currently represent one of the best value audio products on the current market.  They offer a level of performance far greater than their price would suggest.  If you are in the market for new speakers, we strongly urge you to come into our showroom and have a listen.

Denon AVR-10 Series Theatre Receivers

Denon have just announced the release of their eagerly awaited AVR10 series Theatre Receivers.  The AVR10 series introduces a number features across the entire product line that were previously only available in the top models.  These features include Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio, Dolby Pro Logic IIz, Audessey Room Calibration and Compressed Audio Restorer.  Models from the 1910 up also receive the New Anchor Bay Video scalars for the highest quality HDMI video that we have seen so far from Denon.

Wharfedale Speakers

Wharfedale is one of the oldest and most recognizable names in loudspeaker design, having pioneered the development sound reproduction innovations such as 2-way speaker systems and ceramic magnets.  We are very happy to announce that for the first time in many years, Wharfedale speakers will once again be arriving in our showroom.  Given the company's long reputation for high end HiFi speakers, and their we are very eager to hear what these speakers have to offer.

Escalante Design Loudspeakers

The Escalante Design Fremont speakers.  Designed by Tierry Bodge, formerly of Talon Audio and Wilson Audio, this revolutionary 2 way speaker features some very innovative engineering known as Direct Coupling that allows it to function more like a 4 way speaker.

With a frequency response of 18 Hz to 50 kHz and exceptionally fast transient response, the Fremont's strength still remains in the inherent musicality of its sound.  Technical data aside, this speaker lives and breathes music, capable of exposing a level of depth and detail that you didn't realise existed in your music collection.
