VSX-LX52 5.1 AV Receiver
Enjoy the highest possible quality, regardless of what you’re playing. The VSX-LX52 upscales analogue SD video sources to an HDMI signal (up to 1080p resolution).
A convenient front-in HDMI input makes it easy for a direct connection to your games console or camcorder. Additional rear HDMI inputs (4 in, 2 out) let you connect your HD sources and switch between them easily.
Plug and play your iPod or iPhone directly (a cable is included; no dock is necessary). The audio connection is digital, which guarantees transfer without intermediate digital-to-analogue, analogue-to-digital conversions; what you hear is pure. When playing music from your iPhone, iPod or other MP3 player, you’re guaranteed an enhanced sound.
The Advanced Sound Retriever, which restores the quality of compressed audio to closely match the original source, and the Auto Level Control, which compensates for volume fluctuations between songs or sources, both work to deliver a dynamic sound.
A central driving force for all your digital media, the VSX-LX52 expands your entertainment zones in the home with the ability to play audio and video from one source (eg: DVD player) into three different rooms. What’s more, Pioneer’s VSX-LX52 also features multi-source, enabling you to play three different media sources into three difference living areas at the same time.
This receiver includes our unique 9-band Advanced MCACC (Multi-Channel Acoustic Calibration) system. At the touch of a button, it will measure and analyse the number of speakers and subwoofers connected, speaker size, and the distance from speakers to the listening position (in 1cm increments), provide a 9-band EQ per channel, and reverb measurements for the indirect sounds within the room, with the flexibility of being able to save six different calibration settings.
By connecting a PC with software to the RS232 connection on the VSXLX52, this calibration information can be exported to a PC to view in 3D, with before and after calibration settings.
In perfect synergy with MCACC, Phase Control makes sure all sounds arrive at your listening position ‘in phase’, preventing unwanted distortion of the sound. What you get is coherent sound reproduction - with powerful bass sound - as true to the original source as possible.
With THX Select2 Plus certification, you can expect the best possible sound reproduction using 7 channels, whether you’re watching, listening or playing. When connected to a compatible Pioneer Blu-ray player and enjoying via HDMI the uncompressed audio from an audio CD or the LPCM audio track on DVD or Blu-ray Disc, the receiver uses our unique PQLS Multi-Surround technology for a jitterless transmission, resulting in strikingly clear and focussed sound. Jitter refers to the timing inaccuracies that cause audio distortion at the final digital-to-analogue conversion step in the AV receiver.

3 Series Loudspeakers
Conceived with the intention to satisfy music as well as design lovers, Pioneer’s Series 3 speakers combine European artistic sense and sensitivity with Japanese high-skilled manufacturing.
An international team of engineering specialists created the sober and compact Series 3 range to provide the design-conscious audio enthusiast with a technologically advanced audio solution that integrates perfectly in any contemporary interior
The elegant line-up consists of three models:
• S-31LR floor-standing speaker
• S-31BLR bookshelf speaker
• S-31C centre speaker
• S-51W compact sized subwoofer
Complementing the range are the optional CP31B bookshelf speaker stands.
Without dominating the room, all speakers in the line-up output a clear and precise sound, suitable for any music genre. Whether revealing the subtle details of a music CD or underscoring the dynamic action sequences in a film, the Series 3 speaker line achieves the original artists’ intent by utilising many of the core technologies developed by Pioneer’s professional studio arm, TAD (Technical Audio Devices) over the past 30 years.
Profound acoustical studies have led to the selection of a down-firing bass-reflex port in the S-31LR floor-standing speaker to improve the low frequency response of the sound reproduction. Inheriting TAD technologies such as ABD (Acoustic Balance Drive) and AFAST (Acoustical Filter Assisted System Tuning) simulation technologies, the S-31LR completely eliminates vertical standing waves usually responsible for uneven, boomy or sucked out bass response.
The result is precise and dynamic bass with no low midrange colouration.
The Series 3 speakers feature our Phase Control technology, which manages time and phase response of the speakers to minimise the effect of sound delays due to the filtering process of multi-channel receivers. When combining these speakers with Pioneer’s VSX-LX52 AV receiver, featuring Phase Control, multi-channel sound is reproduced faithful to the original source.
To match sound excellence with avant-garde design, French product designer Steve Senescat – the creative brain behind Pioneer’s flagship EX Series’ appearance - created a distinctive line of minimalist speakers, assembled with great attention to detail.
Their clever round shaped cabinet increases rigidity and prevents unwanted sound from enclosure diffraction. The innovative design also ensures that all Series 3 speakers have an identical sound balance when used in a multi-channel setting, which increases the listener’s feeling of being immersed in the sound stage.
